I remember the first time I ran out of Italian seasoning when I needed it for a recipe. It was when I was just out of college and only just beginning my cooking journey.

I googled Italian seasoning to see if there was something I could substitute. That's when I discovered that Italain seasoning is just a blend of a bunch of dried herbs that I already had in my spice cabinet.

It was both a duh moment and and aha moment.

Now, I use this easy recipe for homemade Italian seasoning all the time! I can control the ingredients and tweak the blend to suit my tastes.

The best part is that if you buy your spices separately in bulk, you can save money making your own seasoning blends at home. I call that a win!
