WHAT KIND OF SAUSAGE SHOULD I USE TO MAKE SAUSAGE, PEPPERS, AND ONIONS?

You should use fresh Italian sausage links to make this recipe. You can use hot or mild sausage depending on whichever you prefer.

WHAT KIND OF MARINARA SAUCE SHOULD I USE?

I like to make this recipe using a simple jarred marinara sauce. You can sub out whatever jarred pasta sauce you love or have on hand!

HOW TO STORE LEFTOVER SAUSAGES

Store leftover sausage, peppers, and onions separate from the buns. Store covered in your refrigerator for 3-4 days.

DO I COOK SAUSAGE, PEPPERS, AND ONIONS ON HIGH OR LOW IN MY SLOW COOKER?

This recipe can be cooked on high or low. Cooking time for high heat is 3-4 hours and cooking time for low heat is 6-7 hours. Cut open a sausage to test for doneness and continue cooking if not cooked through completely. Sausage should no longer be pink in the middle when fully cooked.
