I'm going to be completely honest right now and tell you that I'm not a huge fan of sweets. Nine times out of ten, I'll skip dessert even if it's readily available.

Even though I don't have a big sweet tooth, I decided that I should try cake mix cookies. I thought they would be a good option for me because: 1) they're a shortcut recipe and easy is always good and 2) if I had to pick one sweet to enjoy, it would be cookies.

Friends, making cake mix cookies was seriously the best decision I have ever made when it comes to dessert because they were abso-freaking-lutely amazing! The taste, the texture, the ease of preparation...these cookies have everything going for them.

I just have one thing to say and that is MAKE THESE COOKIES!  You won't regret it.  I know I'll be making them again and again! I'm going to give Cake Mix Browines a go next. I can't wait!

HOW TO MAKE COOKIES WITH CAKE MIX

Making cookies with cake mix is so easy! First, you pour the cake mix into a large bowl (dry ingredients only). Then, you mix in eggs and vegetable oil. Finally, you stir in chocolate chips. The cookies are portioned into balls and baked at 350 degrees F for 11 minutes. See below for a detailed ingredients list and instructions.

WHAT MAKES THESE COOKIES TRIPLE CHOCOLATE?

There are three things that make these cookies a triple chocolate treat. The first is the cake mix itself. The second is the pouch of extra cocoa powder that comes with the mix. The third thing that makes these cookies triple chocolate is the chocolate chips! These cookies are the chocolatiest and oh, so good!

  1. I'm definitely going to try this recipe. When I make a box cake I substitute the oil for melted butter. Would melted butter work for the cookies too?

    1. I haven't tried it, but it should work! There might be a slight difference in texture or how they spread. If you try it, let me know how it turns out!
