I am in love with air fryer chicken wings. They are so crispy, so easy to make, and so customizable.

Once you get the air frying cooking method down, the fun begins and you can experiment with all different kinds of sauces and dips.

I swear, once you start making air fryer wings, you'll agree that they beat out restaurant wings every time.

This time around, I decided to make garlic parmesan wings. I used to order garlic butter wings at a bar my husband and I liked to hang out at before we had kids.

They were garlicky, buttery, and covered in salty parmesan cheese. They weren't your traditional wing, but they were oh, so good.

This version totally beats out the ones I used to order at the bar, though, hands down.

DO I HAVE TO AIR FRY THE WINGS?

You do not have to air fry the wings, but it is by far my favorite way to prepare them! You can toss your favorite baked or fried chicken wings with the garlic butter sauce and parmesan cheese if that's how you prefer to prepare them.

WHAT DO I DIP GARLIC PARMESAN WINGS IN?

Traditionally, wings are served with ranch or blue cheese for dipping. Garlic parmesan wings are great with those, but I highly recommend trying these wings dipped in my homemade caesar dressing. The flavor compliments the wings perfectly!

INGREDIENTS

2 pounds chicken wings
olive oil spray
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Spray your air fryer with olive oil spray. Arrange the wings in your air fryer in a single layer and lightly spray them with the olive oil spray. (Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to prepare them in several batches.)

2. Air fry the wings for 10 minutes at 400 degrees F. Flip the wings and continue air frying for 10-15 more minutes, until your desired crispiness.

3. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic, salt, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and crushed red pepper to the melted butter and stir to combine. Let the butter mixture simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from the heat.

4. Transfer the wings to a large bowl and toss with the garlic butter and the parmesan cheese.

5. Transfer the wings to a plate and use a rubber spatula to scrape any parmesan and garlic stuck to the bowl onto the wings. Serve with caesar dressing for dipping.

NOTES

Cooking time will vary between different models of air fryer. I use the Ninja 4-Quart Air Fryer.
