Honestly, you don't even need an occasion to make chocolate covered strawberries. Make a batch, pop them in the fridge, and indulge as you see fit!

HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

Chocolate covered strawberries are made by dipping fresh strawberries in melted chocolate. They are placed on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerated until the chocolate is set. Melted white chocolate can be drizzled over the chocolate covered strawberries if desired.

WHAT KIND OF CHOCOLATE SHOULD I USE TO MAKE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES?

You can use either candy melts or chocolate chips for this recipe. Either will work. You can dip your strawberries in milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate.

DO I HAVE TO USE A DOUBLE BOILER TO MELT THE CHOCOLATE?

No, you don't have to use a double boiler to melt chocolate. While a double boiler will prevent the chocolate from heating too quickly and seizing, a microwave can do the same job if done properly. The chocolate can be melted in the microwave with a small amount of coconut oil (or shortening or other neutral oil) for 30 second increments, stirring between each increment until the chocolate is melted. QUICK TIP: White chocolate will seize more quickly than other kinds of chocolate!

CAN YOU FREEZE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

Chocolate covered strawberries should not be frozen. When strawberries are frozen and thawed, the strawberries can become soft and mushy. If you still want to try to freeze chocolate covered strawberries, they should be eaten while they are still partially frozen.

HOW TO STORE CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

Chocolate covered strawberries can be stored in the refrigerator or on the counter loosely covered with foil or plastic wrap.

HOW LONG DO CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES LAST?

Chocolate covered strawberries can be stored in the refrigerator for two days. Chocolate covered strawberries stored at room temperature should be enjoyed within 24 hours.
