Homemade Irish Cream

Homemade Irish Cream is super easy to make and tastes so much better than store-bought.  Add it to your coffee, drink it on the rocks, or give a bottle away as a gift!

One of my very favorite special occasion liqueurs is Irish Cream. I usually don’t keep it on hand because I know I’d drink it in no time if I did. I just love that smooth, creamy taste and that little kick from the Irish whiskey. In my opinion, it’s great for serving on holidays!

I like to pick up a bottle for Thanksgiving and Christmas and after we feast I’ll make coffee with Irish cream to sip on while we visit and have dessert. Traditions like these are what I live for and I plan to carry this one on until I’m old and gray.

While I plan on stopping by the liquor store soon to stock up the bar for the holidays, I actually won’t be picking up any Irish Cream this year.

Oh, I still plan on sipping on a Baileys White Russian just like I always do, we’re just going to do things a little differently this year. I’m going to be sliding a bottle of Jameson in my basket instead of Irish Cream and I’m going to make it myself. We’ll be serving this homemade version this year!

Did you know that you could make homemade Irish Cream that tastes waaaaay better than Baileys? I’ve been toying around with the idea of making my own for quite some time now and if I had known how unbelievably easy it is to make, I would have made it much, MUCH sooner!

All it takes is a few simple ingredients, five minutes, and a blender. After a quick 20 second whirl, you have the richest, creamiest, most delicious Irish Cream you have ever tasted!

This recipe is totally customizable, meaning you can tweak the ingredients to suit your tastes and you pretty much can’t mess it up. You might like yours with a little more espresso or a little less vanilla, but I have found this combination of ingredients to be just perfect.

This recipe is so tasty that I know you’ll want to share it with everyone you know! I think bottling some up to give as a hostess gift, a Christmas gift, or even as a gift for your favorite Irishman on St. Patrick’s Day is a great idea. Just be sure to make a double batch so you can have some for yourself. I know you’ll love it!
