Watermelon Cooler

A Watermelon Cooler is a two ingredient sparkling cocktail that features sweet watermelon vodka.

Last month I wrote a post over at Real Housemoms (I'm part of the Creative Team!) that featured watermelon vodka.  Have you ever been to the Real Housemoms site before?  If you haven't, you must go there.  So much good stuff going on!  Love, love, love it.

Anyhoo, the point of the story is the watermelon vodka.  The post I wrote last month was a recipe for Boozy Watermelon Pops that were, of course, adult only.  The recipe only calls for 1/2 cup of vodka, so I was left with quite a bit of vodka left over.

Not that I'm complaining.

I just needed to figure out what the heck you are supposed to mix with watermelon vodka so I could drink it.

I wanted to mix it with something that would highlight the sweet watermelon flavor without overshadowing it.  I did a little googling and read a suggestion to mix it with lemon-lime soda.  Seemed simple enough, so I thought I'd give it a go!

It was light, sweet and just the right amount of watermelon flavor!  Perfect for sipping by the pool on a hot summer's day.

Lucky for me, I had all of that leftover vodka and I just so happen to have a brand new house with a gorge pool to sip cocktails next to.  Sweetness all around!
